Japan Helper is a family foundation started by John and Deneice Leigh in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami which hit Japan on March 11, 2011. In an effort to reach out to a culture we love, and on the principle that every life has equal value, we are raising funds to assist with the rebuilding of Japan, and in the future, to help the growth and awareness of anime and Japanese pop culture.
The current challenge: Tsunami waves caused major destruction in northern Japan. The death toll has now officially surpassed 10,000, and more than 17,000 are missing. Approximately 300,000 are in temporary shelter.
At this time, all donations will disburse funds to organizations (such as the Japanese Red Cross) which directly provide relief and emergency services to victims of the earthquake and tsunami disaster.
Every donor is part of a movement designed to make a difference. Please help now, and be a Japan Helper.
